Ross Fitzgerald, journalist for The Australian, today published an opinion piece that highlights how ordinary Australians are much more concerned about violence than sex.
He also conveys the shortcomings of the Classification Review Board and their decision to uphold the R rating given to the film Viva Erotica.
Fitzgerald questions how a violent film such as 'The Realm of Senses' in which a women strangles a man during a sex act, is classified R based on 'artistic merit', yet a film containing real sex such as Viva Erotica is awarded the X classification.
