2.11.06 - The Glass House axed! Another case of censorship?

News this week that popular ABC comedy show The Glass House has been axed, has angered the Australian public. Confusion has arisen as to why the high-rating show has been shelved after 5 years. Was it time for a change, or perceived intervention by the Government to censor what is broadcast?

Greens Leader, Bob Brown has spoken out saying "the decision to axe it is purely political - this is censorship". He went on to make a point that the Howard Government has shown it lacks the most Australian of all values - humour.

One of the stars of the hit show Corrine Grant said, suggestions that the show was axed because of regular segements poking fun at the Howard Governement were "speculative".

However she did say that "If that was the case, and certainly the ABC have not said that at all, but if that was the case that would be extremely concerning,"

"That would be a national broadcaster being dictated to by the incumbent government about its content. Which is the kind of thing you see in North Korea, not Australia." Grant commented.

What are your thoughts on the Glass House decision?
